Ray Rossi has had a life-long enthusiasm for public service and his passion for justice makes him the ideal candidate for Circuit Court Judge. With nearly 30 years as a lawyer, including substantial litigation experience, Ray has the right experience to serve. Most importantly, he also has the integrity and discipline to serve us appropriately.
Ray understands the needs and desires of Will County residents and has the common sense and good judgment to make sure that those needs and desires are realized through the legal system.
As the President and managing agent of his law firm since its inception, Ray's mission has been to obtain the best results for the firm's clients in an efficient and economical manner. His firm has made new law in state and federal courts, successfully handled many multi-million dollar lawsuits and represented clients in all most areas of the law, including litigation of wrongful death, nursing home injury, professional malpractice, environmental, product liability, dram shop, business, construction, intellectual property, corporate and partnership, real estate, tax exempt organizations, employment, trusts and estates, municipal, constitutional and criminal lawsuits.
Ray's present firm traces its roots to the professional corporation of Bishop & Crawford, Ltd. started in 1965. Through the years, the firm has produced a United States District Court judge, a Cook County Circuit Court judge, a law school dean, and senior attorneys with various governmental bodies.
Ray is perennially rated by his peers as possessing the "highest preeminence for legal ability and general standards of conduct, ethics, reliability and diligence" in a non-partisan publication. Ray also qualifies each year to be included in the Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers of Martindale-Hubbell. Less than 5% of all law firms qualify and are included in the Bar Register.
Ray is known as a "lawyer's lawyer," with attorneys throughout the nation referring complex cases to him in order to receive justice for their clients. Ray is widely known as an ethical, meticulous, hard working, and skillful lawyer.
"I know the law, and more importantly, I understand the impact that court decisions have on families and businesses. I am enthusiastic about serving Will County as a judge. For almost 30 years, I have demonstrated my passion for serving the community, based upon values gained from my parents. Serving as judge will allow me opportunities to help Will County families and businesses receive justice in the disputes that arise affecting them.
Judicial independence is essential to our nation. A judge must decide cases fairly and impartially relying on the facts and the law without the influence of political, media, public or special interest pressures. Justice Anthony M. Kennedy once said, "The law makes a promise: neutrality. If the promise gets broken, the law as we know it ceases to exist."
So what are the qualities that a judge should possess? Honesty, integrity, knowledge of the law, experience and temperament. A judge must have the ability to be decisive and firm in rulings, judging each case on its facts and merits, because each case will be different.
I am ready and well prepared to serve as judge. In this election I bring experience to the residents of Will County and ask for your support to win this campaign.
As you navigate through this website, you’ll see that I have fought for justice and used a common sense approach to public service for many years. When you consider my many professional achievements, my extensive service to the community, and my personal background, I am confident that you will agree I am well qualified, have the appropriate demeanor and the broad perspective necessary to serve you and our County well as a Judge.
I am aided in my candidacy for judge by my wife of more than 30 years. Terri works for the Lincoln-Way School District and we share four wonderful children: Amanda. Who is busy raising five children with the help of her husband, Mike; Brandon, who is a busy union electrician and married to Kristin; Carmen, a graduate of the University of Illinois with a B.S. and Masters degrees who is presently a law student; and Drake, who is an undergraduate and on the wrestling team at the University of Illinois.
I grew up in a close knit family where I learned the values of service to community through hard work and perseverance. My father passed nine years ago, but my mother Elsie, and brothers, Joe and A.J. still live in Will County."
